For example, anyone in one of the many golfing communities or staying at one of the fine resorts will want to schedule at least one day to check out Old Town La Quinta. There you can sip a drink at a sidewalk café, explore wonderful boutiques, and even partake of the local farmer’s market or a free concert on the green.

If small shops are not your thing, there is always El Paseo which is an upscale shopping area located in neighboring Palm Desert, often called the “Rodeo Drive of the Desert”. El Paseo houses most of the familiar labels and brands of the world.

If museums are the thing for you, there is the La Quinta Museum, which gives you a wonderful view of La Quinta and the entire valley through the past centuries. There is also the Palm Springs Art Museum a short drive from town.
