Dining & Restaurants

Here’s the main problem with any discussion of La Quinta dining and restaurants…you have to be very hungry when you visit the region. For example, if you are a guest at the La Quinta Resort & Club, you will have several high-quality restaurants from which to choose. If you are renting a vacation property at one of the golfing communities, you might be able to dine at a “comfort station” while out on the course, eat at the café in the clubhouse, and enjoy dinner at one of the signature restaurants on the property.

Dining Under The Stars In La Quinta Is Extremely Popular.

Of course, if you relocate and live in La Quinta, you can enjoy the many restaurants and cafes situated in charming Old Town La Quinta or you can head out to the Washington Street and Highway 111 area to find a large number of additional shops and restaurants as well.

Clearly, there is no shortage of food in the Coachella Valley region and even if you feel as if there is nothing in the immediate La Quinta area that you want, it takes just a few minutes to head to Palm Desert or Palm Springs for another long list of options.

Dining Under The Sun Is Equally As Popular.

The reason that you have will have such a diversity of dining options in this area is simple – it has been a region catering to some very specific needs and tastes for a very long time. It all goes back to the 1920’s when La Quinta was “discovered” by a San Francisco businessman. He built the La Quinta Hotel (renamed La Quinta Resort & Club in 1993) and began attracting visits from some of Hollywood’s leading celebrities. That established the trend for having only the best of the best in the area – including food, restaurants, cafes, shops and more.

Happy Hour Is A Favorite Pastime In La Quinta.

In fact, you might look back a bit farther to see that the valley was a place meant for fabulous food in general. The early farming businesses did not grow just any old crops and included exotic dates and seedless grapes among the most common produce.

Clearly, the trend for delicious food started in the La Quinta area as far back as the 1800s and continues today. You can dine in style at a resort, eat a gourmet meal at a golfing community clubhouse, head to a restaurant or café in town, and even buy some freshly grown produce and homemade foods from the weekly organic farmer’s market in the very heart of La Quinta.

Any way you look at it, you can see that being hungry has its advantages when you begin exploring all of the dining options La Quinta offers.
